Our last English meet up event this year in Ota. We had a nice cosy time eating, drinking and chatting in English last night at Yellomoong in Ota, Gunma.
We shared job interview tips and experiences, Christmas traditions and people's names from different countries.Thank you to all who attended, it was good seeing you there.

ご参加いただいた皆様、
寒い中足を運んでいただき、
ありがとうございました！
昨日も英語と日本語交じりで、
様々なトピックについて
話しました。
興味深かったのは、
名前の話。
国によって名前の付け方違うのは
もちろんですが、その違いは
まさに目からウロコでした！
アルゼンチンでは、名前のリストがあり、
その中から、名前を選ぶらしい、などetc.
また、ある方から”たらたらしてんじゃねーよ”を
英語にするとどうなるの？というご質問を
頂きました。
日本語→英語と直訳できないので、
いろいろな方向から一緒に考えてみました。
どんな単語を使うのか。
どの程度丁寧にするのか。
どれくらいの強さにするのか。
誰の視点から話すのか？
（日本語は主語が抜けることが多いので、
話の主体がどこにあるかによって、言い方も変えたいところです）
おもしろい言い回しがいくつかできたと思います♪
外は寒かったですが、
中は皆さんの笑顔で
暖かかったHello Otaでした＾＾
